Waterworks: from its name to its transformation, every aspect of this Food Hall honours the history and legacy of this beautiful adaptive reuse project.

Its history is the connective tissue that threads throughout while modern updates are seamlessly integrated to the extent that old and new are indistinguishable. And while history informed the aesthetics, its operations had to ensure optimum performance as a living, breathing, ever-changing Food Hall. From air handling, to deliveries, to trash removal, refrigeration and food prep, the back of house design was as important as the Food Hall itself. Its success is measured in the way vendors integrate into the concept, allowing their branding and signage to standout yet be cohesive within the retail framework.

Golnar Ahmadian’s background in Architecture is immediately apparent in her beautifully fluid yet tailored clothing.  She reimagines facets of her traditional Iranian heritage into avant-garde women’s clothing surprising us with impeccable twists and turns.
